The Diablo 4 Season 16 PTR (patch 3.3.0) runs from October 27 at 10 a.m. PDT to November 3 at 10 a.m. PST, on PC only. Blizzard hasn't announced a Season 16 release date yet. Based on Blizzard's own past PTR-to-launch gaps, Season 16 will most likely arrive between late November and mid-December 2026.
All facts below come from Blizzard's official 3.3.0 PTR article and patch notes, checked on October 29, 2026 (Blizzard).
Key Takeaways:
- The PTR is open October 27 to November 3 on PC through Battle.net. PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate members can join through the Xbox app.
- Season 16's new seasonal system is Tyrael's Boons, a War Plans tree with four paths.
- Every class gets changes, and Horadric Items now boost Talisman set bonuses.
- There is no official release date. Past seasons launched 28 to 51 days after their PTR started, which points to about November 24 to December 17.
- Torment XII is still the highest difficulty. The PTR notes add no new Torment or Pit tiers.
When Is the Season 16 PTR and How Do You Join?

The PTR opens on Tuesday, October 27 at 10 a.m. PDT and closes on Tuesday, November 3 at 10 a.m. PST. It's build #74145 and PC only, according to Blizzard.
| Time zone | PTR opens (Oct 27) | PTR closes (Nov 3) |
| US Pacific | 10:00 a.m. PDT | 10:00 a.m. PST |
| US Eastern | 1:00 p.m. EDT | 1:00 p.m. EST |
| UK | 5:00 p.m. GMT | 6:00 p.m. GMT |
| Central Europe | 6:00 p.m. CET | 7:00 p.m. CET |
We converted the time zones ourselves. Europe left daylight saving on October 25 and the US on November 1, so when the PTR opens, UK and EU times are one hour closer to Pacific time than usual. Some sites still list the summer offsets.
How to join, following Blizzard's steps:
- Open the Battle.net app and pick Diablo IV under Games.
- In the version dropdown above the Play button, choose "Public Test Realm".
- Click Install, then Play.
- Pick a Test Server and make a new test character. Use a Seasonal character to test seasonal content.
On the PTR, a vendor named Mrak stands next to the main Waypoint in major cities. He sells PTR Boosts with crafting materials, gear, Paragon glyphs, "Unlock All Torment Tiers", Horadric Items and "Max Tyrael's Boons". Blizzard's article doesn't say whether PTR progress carries over, so plan on starting fresh when Season 16 launches.
What Is Tyrael's Boons?
Tyrael's Boons is Season 16's new seasonal power system. It's a themed War Plans tree with "up to 132 points, enough to choose up to 4 of 6 available selections within the four available paths," Blizzard says.
The four paths are:
- Curious Addition
- Merchant of Mystery
- Scent of Gold
- Trash for Treasure
Every Seasonal player gets Tyrael's Boons, and you don't need the Lord of Hatred expansion. Removing a point costs 5,000,000 gold, so choose with care.
What Changes for War Plans?

War Plans get more choice and a new respec currency. You can now put up to 3 points into each Activity node and each Reward node, across 10 reward types. One point in Helltides or Nightmare Dungeons unlocks the choice of a Greater Helltide or an Escalation Dungeon.
Respeccing War Plans and Activity trees now costs Marks of Wisdom instead of gold. You earn Marks of Wisdom by turning in War Plans. On the PTR, they're capped at 20.
Season Blessings also change. Blizzard says they "will become a static system with the same five Blessings on offer each time."
What Do Horadric Items Do?

Horadric Items make Talisman sets easier to complete. Horadric jewelry adds +1 to the piece count of its Talisman set. So one Charm plus the matching jewelry already gives you the 2-piece bonus. Horadric armor and weapons add extra effects that turn on once you have a set's 2-piece bonus.
Tyrael's Boons' Trash for Treasure path also adds a new Horadric Cube recipe, Greater Temper. It upgrades a Tempered affix to a Greater affix for 30 Scrolls of Restoration and 1,000 Obducite.
What Is the Fractured Reaper?

The Fractured Reaper joins the Corrupted Reaper as a combined Lair Boss. Blizzard calls it "Pandemonium's Dual Threat." So in Season 16 you fight two Reapers in one encounter.
Which Classes Change on the Season 16 PTR?

All eight classes get changes on the PTR. Here are the biggest ones from Blizzard's patch notes:
| Class | Headline changes |
| Barbarian | Double Swing damage per swing 75% to 150%. Frenzy's Raging variant explosion chance 75% to 100%. |
| Druid | Fixes "tag stacking": skills no longer gain Nature Magic or Shapeshifting tags from upgrades or variants. |
| Necromancer | Bone Spear and Blood Lance 160% to 175%. Sever 100% to 120%. Blood Orbs heal 10% of Max Life (was 15%) and also heal minions. |
| Paladin | Aura Potency now scales with Skill Ranks. Zealot Oath 35% to 45%. |
| Rogue | Shadow Imbuement now stacks instead of refreshing. Ferocity bonus on Rapid Fire and Rain of Arrows cut to 4%. |
| Sorcerer | Meteor's Damage and Size Bonus upgrade cooldown 15s to 10s. Firewall's Ring of Fire cooldown 12s to 8s, but its damage drops from 300% to 100%. |
| Spiritborn | Razor Wings 120% to 160%. Stinger 140% to 125% (a nerf). |
| Warlock | Apocalypse (Annihilation variant) max stacks 100 to 200, but damage per stack 40% to 20%. Fiend of Abaddon (Abyssal Colossus variant) Swipe 455% to 630%. |
PTR numbers often change before launch, so treat these as a preview.
What Changes for Items, Talismans and Endgame?

Several popular items and Talisman sets get retuned:
- Thundergod's Blessing: damage roll 250-300% to 300-350%.
- Banished Lord's Talisman: Crit Damage 130-150% to 80-100%, a big nerf.
- Signet of Pelghain: now only usable by Necromancers, Sorcerers and Rogues.
- Runes: Que offering 300 to 500, Lac 400 to 600.
- Talisman sets: for example, Kwatli's Grace 5-piece goes from 200% to 225%, and Bliss of the Multitude's 5-piece drops from 50% to 40%.
In the endgame, Helltides now start on the hour in base-game zones and at the 30-minute mark in expansion zones. Aberrant Cinders no longer reset between Helltides. The PTR notes add no new Pit or Torment tiers, so Torment XII stays the highest difficulty, as it has been since Lord of Hatred (Blizzard).
When Will Season 16 Release?

Blizzard hasn't announced a Season 16 release date. Blizzard's own past dates give a good estimate, though. Over the last four seasons with a PTR, the season launched 28 to 51 days after the PTR started (Season 13 launched with Lord of Hatred and had no PTR):
| Season | PTR started | Season launched | Gap |
| Season 11 | Oct 21, 2025 | Dec 11, 2025 | 51 days |
| Season 12 | Feb 3, 2026 | Mar 11, 2026 | 36 days |
| Season 14 | Jun 2, 2026 | Jun 30, 2026 | 28 days |
| Season 15 | Aug 4, 2026 | Sep 15, 2026 | 42 days |

Applied to the October 27 PTR start, that range gives about November 24 to December 17, 2026. The average gap, 39 days, lands around December 5.
Two other signals point to early December:
- Game8 estimates December 1, 2026 at the earliest, based on the Season 15 Reliquary (battle pass) expiring at the end of November (Game8). Game8's page was last updated October 13, before the PTR was announced, and notes there's no official confirmation.
- Season 14 to Season 15 took 77 days (June 30 to September 15). Another 77 days from September 15 also lands on December 1. That's our own math, not an official schedule.
Season 16 doesn't have an official name yet either. Blizzard said some Season 15 features will carry forward into Season 16 and that more details would follow in a later post.
What's Coming After Season 16?

At BlizzCon 2026, Blizzard confirmed two big things, and neither is part of Season 16:
- The Amazon class: "The Amazon will join Diablo IV with a Class Pack in the first half of 2027." Its archetypes are Champion, Skirmisher, Ranger and Commander (Blizzard).
- Diablo V: "The next era of Diablo is now in development," and it's coming Spring 2029 (Blizzard).
Be careful with "new class leak" articles. The only new class Blizzard has confirmed is the Amazon, for 2027.
